Discuss and Consider Possible Action on a Resolution Canvassing the Returns and Declaring the Official Results of the City of Leon Valley, Texas, November 07, 2017, Special Election
On August 15, 2017, the Leon Valley City Council ordered the November 07, 2017, Special Election by adopting Resolution No. 17-025R. The purpose of calling a Special Election to be held was for the question of the Adoption of a Home Rule Charter for the City of Leon Valley; and authorizing the City Manager to contract with the Bexar County Elections Administrator for the conduct of said election, and providing details relating to the conduct of holding the election.
Accordingly, the November 07, 2017, Special Election was held jointly with Bexar County. This communication serves as transmittal to the back-up information and analysis based on voter activity, including early voting and the actual November 07, 2017 Election Day results.

A RESOLUTION AND ORDER CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE OFFICIAL RESULTS OF CITY OF LEON VALLEY, TEXAS, NOVEMBER 07, 2017 SPECIAL ELECTION TO VOTE ON THE PROPOSED HOME RULE CHARTER FOR THE CITY OF LEON VALLEY, TEXAS.
There came to be considered the returns of an election held on November 07, 2017 on the question “Shall the proposed Home Rule Charter for the City of Leon Valley be adopted?”, and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that each of the candidates in said election received the following votes:
SHALL THE PROPOSED HOME RULE CHARTER FOR THE CITY OF LEON VALLEY BE ADOPTED?

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LEON VALLEY, TEXAS:
That the election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in accordance with law and that said election was held in accordance with law; that notice of said election was given in accordance with law; and that said election was held in accordance with law that the Proposed Home Rule Charter for the City of Leon Valley was adopted.
It is further found and determined that in accordance with the order of this governing body that the City Secretary posted written notice of the date, place and subject of this meeting on the bulletin board located at the City Hall, a place convenient to the public, and said notice having been so posted and remaining posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding the date of this meeting. A copy of the return of said posting shall be attached to the minutes of this meeting and shall be made a part thereof for all intents and purposes.
