City Manager Kuenstler reminded everyone that the City Manager’s Report is posted on the website as well as placed on the table in the foyer for all interested. City Manager Kuenstler then supplemented that report with new information such as: a) the Movies in the Park make up movie has been scheduled for September 29th at Raymond Rimkus Park. The movie to be shown is Beauty and The Beast; b) October 22nd is San Antonio's Siclovia; c) Leon Valley received the Scenic City Award which was applied for by Christina Garcia of Community Development. Ms. Garcia will give a presentation on this award at the September 19th Regular City Council meeting; d) There will be a 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Leon Valley Public Library on September 20th from 5-7 pm. This is a 70s theme celebration!; e) LVFD has three firefighters who were deployed during Hurricane Harvey rescue efforts. They were deployed through the Texas Department of State Health Services and they are paid by the City of Leon Valley but the City will be reimbursed from the State.; Public Works staff spent a couple of days in Ingleside assisting with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Their overtime was set up as a liability and should get reimbursed for that from FEMA; f) Lastly, the LVFD and LVPD held a boot drive this weekend to assist with evacuees f Hurricane Harvey and they raised over $9,000 with their combined efforts.
